Celebrate Cider Week at the Seneca Falls Farmers Market

It’s time to celebrate Finger Lakes Cider Week!   In tribute to the fall season and cider week, the Seneca Falls Farmers Market will have two local cider makers sampling cider and selling bottled cider.

Bellwether Hard Cider of Trumansburg and Three Brothers Winery of Geneva will both be at the market sampling their unique hard ciders.  Bellwether will also have their ciders available for purchase so you can take some home for all your fall gatherings.  We will also have a local sweet cider available for sampling as well as some homemade baked cider donuts!

This is all taking place in People’s Park, Seneca Falls on Wednesday, October 8th from 9AM to 1:30PM.   This event will be in addition to our usual vendors who will have plenty of sweet corn, tomatoes (heirloom and others), apples, grapes, sweet and hot peppers, greens for salads, eggplant, squashes of all kinds, meats, maple syrup, honey, eggs, fresh baked goods, cut flowers, mums, Indian corn, pumpkins, and too many other items to list!  But if you come to the park you can see for yourself!  Support the local economy and take home everything you need to make your own locavore meal!

Schrader’s Farm Meat Market serves breakfast sandwiches made with their own bacon, from their USDA certified facility in Romulus, NY.  And Schrader’s and Baby Cakes serve lunch each Wednesday to enjoy at picnic tables in the park or take back to your home or office to enjoy!  This week Schrader’s will be serving homemade chili, while Baby Cakes will have homemade macaroni and cheese.  Enjoy the wonderful fall weather in the park by the canal and visit with friends and neighbors and talk to the people who grow, raise and make your food.

The market is able to have customers utilize their EBT/SNAP benefits at the market.  Swipe your card, get your tokens and shop at the market.  Stop at the market manager’s space to use your card.

Rain or shine we will be there.  Dress for the weather and head to the park to sample local ciders and homemade donuts!  Call 315-539-9251 for details, like us on Facebook for current information or just stop by and eat fresh, buy local!
