County Government

Seneca County Government

Board of Supervisors – Seneca County Government is modeled in the traditional pattern of county government in New York State — as the governing body is a Board of Supervisors. Section 150 of the County Law provides that the supervisors of towns and the supervisors of cities within each county must constitute the board of supervisors. In Seneca County, the board is made up of 14 representatives from each of the towns that constitute the county. The Supervisors are given weighted votes, based on their town’s population. While most towns have only one elected “Town Supervisor” representative, the towns of Waterloo and Seneca Falls are given two additional “at-large Supervisors” to represent the larger populations of their communities.
