Hosmer Winery Releases 2 Highly Anticipated Chardonnays

hosmerLooking for a fresh wine for a hot summer day? Or a luscious wine to make you feel at ease? At Hosmer, we make a Chardonnay for everyone, and this July hosts the release of two brand new vintages of our acclaimed Chardonnays.

Our 2013 Chardonnay is aged in stainless steel, highlighting its fruit tones and aromatic complexity. The palate is bright and creamy with mineral flavors filling the finish. This invigorating Chardonnay will please those who like a crisp wine experience.

Our 2012 Limited Release Chardonnay will delight those who prefer a heavier bodied oaked wine. Aged in French and American oak, this wine offers a full, buttery richness and a smooth oak profile.

At Hosmer we take pride in making award winning and highly regarded Chardonnays. Our 2012 Chardonnay received an 88 in Wine Enthusiast and was described as “eminently refreshing.” Our Limited Release Chardonnays are only produced in years with exceptional growing conditions, ensuring only the highest level of quality. Winemaker Aaron Roisen expresses his affinity for the grape, “I love making Chardonnay in the Finger Lakes because it is one of the most challenging and rewarding wines to make here. The fruit on the Hosmer farm comes from a broad spectrum of vine age, from 15 to over 30 year old plants. This gives deep insight to the terroir of the west central shore of Cayuga Lake and the showcase of this variety’s tremendous abilities.”

Whether you are looking for a crisp wine to refresh you on a warm day, or one to comfort you with lushness, we have a Chardonnay for you.

About Hosmer Winery:

With a vineyard established in the early 1970s, Hosmer Winery opened it’s doors in 1985 on the west bank of Cayuga Lake on the principle that great wines start in the vineyard. We farm 70 acres of 14 different grape varieties on the family estate. Primarily vinifera, our vines are 25 to 30+ years old, growing on deep Cazenovian soils. The quality of wine that is captured in our bottles is a direct product of our pristine vineyards and thoughtful growing practices. As a full estate winery, we are able to insure the quality of every grape, from the roots to your glass.
