Empire Farm Days Begins in Finger Lakes Central
Empire Farm Days begins in Finger Lakes Central August 6-8 at Rodman Lott & Son Farm in Seneca Falls, NY. The event brings more than 600 exhibitors and over 70,000 visitors interested in farming, livestock, horses, food production and all things agriculture to Seneca Falls annually. The outdoor farming showcase spreads out across 300 acres and is one of the largest agricultural theme events in New York State. The three-day event is estimated to have a more than $2.1 million impact on the Seneca County economy each year.
The agriculturally-rich Seneca County boasts open fields, vineyards and wineries, riding trails, pumpkin patches, modern and historic farm sites, and stops on the Finger Lakes Artisan Cheese Trail. Special events include Seneca Lake and Cayuga Lake Wine Trail tastings and tours, cheese weekends and herb festivals, the Ovid Strawberry Festival, and the Pickin’ in the Pasture Bluegrass Festival in Lodi.
In addition to hosting Empire Farm Days each August since 1988, Rodman Lott & Son Farms hosts the September Finger Lakes Cork & Fork event for the sampling and sale of locally-made products.
The Seneca County Tourism exhibit at Empire Farm Days offers vacation planning resources and the latest information for visiting area wineries and farms, farmers’ markets, and restaurants.
“Empire Farm Days is a fabulous showcase of all that is good about agriculture in Seneca County and across New York State,” says Seneca County Chamber of Commerce Director Jeff Shipley. “Events such as Empire Farm Days and Finger Lakes Cork and Fork bring a huge economic impact into Seneca County and signal the significance of our local, regional and New York state agricultural bounty.”
