First Presbyterian Church of Waterloo Holding WWI Service Flag Commemoration

The First Presbyterian Church of Waterloo is holding a special celebration commemorating the historical lowering of the Blue Star Service Flag that occurred on March 28th, 1920 at the conclusion of WWI.  The flag that hung in the church during the war went missing, but was recently recovered by the Waterloo Library and Historical Society.  The Church, which celebrates its 200th anniversary this year, has set Sunday, March 19th to hold the service flag commemoration and honor the lives of US Veterans.  The afternoon program will include special music, speeches, and historical remembrances and will be followed by a reception of light refreshments.
