If you’re out and about in Auburn on First Friday (September 2nd), you won’t want to miss the 8th Annual

Studio Portfolio and Exhibition, hosted by Spot Light Studio.  The exhibition will be open from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at 39 Genesee Street when you can meet and greet the artists.  All artwork will be for sale with the proceeds going to the artist; music will be provided by Bob Piorun.  Spot Light Studio is the arts and entertainment program operated by Arc of Seneca Cayuga and overseen by Ed Sayles.

Spot Light Studio gives people with developmental disabilities the opportunity to explore and develop their creative talents, while also working on life skills that will assist them in developing and maintaining a high degree of self-direction and independence. In the open art studio setting, individuals are encouraged to explore different forms of visual art.  However, they also receive individual instruction if they decide to focus on a particular form. The emphasis is to afford each person the opportunity to develop their own ‘style’. Guided and self-directed experiments are used to develop visual work within conceptual art.

For more information, you contact Katie Smith, Studio Coordinator, at 315-252-7016.
